new – international students

This is a blog by Maryam Jum’a and Akaliza Gara. We are multimedia students creating a welcome pack for new international students. The blog is to help us keep a record of the process.

The brief for the project was as follows:

“ Intro material for new students:

Remember those exciting talks you had when you were a new student at the University? Did they tell you what you needed to know about teaching, learning, socialising, living with other students etc? Did you listen? Could you do better? This project would aim to convey important information to new students in an effective and exciting way. The final work could be presented at intro lectures and/or made available on the web. It can use modelling/animation/video/sound/interaction – anything that will get the message across! ”

We decided that we would create an even more potentially useable project if we geared it specifically towards international students.
